SACAL offers a variety of cultural courses

SACAL offers a variety of cultural courses to enhance students' learning and introduce them to other aspects of the Arabic language and Moroccan culture. The courses are designed to be taken in conjunction with language courses.

Wood Carving:
In this course, students learn traditional carving techniques and create individual works of art. This classes are taught by skilled craftsmen in their own medina workshops. 

Weaving Workhops:

In this course, students get to learn about the different Types of threads used in Morocco, experience a new craft and learn the main basic weaving thechniques with the craftsman using the Loom.

Calligraphy:
This course introduces one of the most highly regarded art forms in Arab civilization. Students will be exposed to a variety of styles, from the cursive Thuluth to the angular Kuf, in addition to the distinctively Moroccan calligraphy used in old Moroccan and Andalusian scripts. Students use traditional tools with individual attention and step-by-step instruction and will be able to produce their own works of art after a few sessions.

Lute:
This class introduces students to the lute (Oud), one of the most highly esteemed Arab musical instruments.

Cooking:
In this course, students are introduced to the world of Moroccan cuisine and learn to prepare traditional dishes such as Couscous and Tajine. Students will be provided with detailed recipes, step-by-step instruction, all necessary ingredients and delicious results!
